About Us
Debt Free Advice helps people tackle problem debt and regain financial stability through free, FCA-regulated support delivered by a partnership of expert advisers. The service is funded by the Money and Pensions Service and powered by Toynbee Hall, a charity that has championed financial inclusion since 1884. 
Each year, thousands of people access Debt Free Advice via community locations, phone and digital channels. Since 2006, more than 500,000 people have used the service, reflecting sustained demand amid the cost-of-living crisis. Between 2023 and 2025 alone, nearly 24,500 people were supported, with £36.5m in financial gains secured for clients. 
Debt Free Advice combines trusted human support with practical innovation. Its Video Advice Kiosks — designed to reach people who can’t easily travel to appointments — won Best Service Delivery Innovation at the Third Sector Awards 2024 and are being expanded, including through a partnership bringing access into prisons.
